Population pharmacokinetic (PopPK) modeling

Population modeling provides estimates of typical drug levels and drug effects (PK parameters) in a specific population by identifying sources of variability (covariates) and then quantifying the impact of each covariate through a modeling system.

Population pharmacokinetic (PopPK) analyses are used to help understand the differences and variability among a target population to aid in the determination of safe and efficacious drug administration.

These models are utilized in support of preclinical and clinical data and allow for integration of sparse data but also for combinations of sparse and dense data.

Population PK modeling uses a statistical methodology and nonlinear mixed effects modeling (NONMEM).
